No power at Sigatoka Hospital, hospital using a backup generator

The power supply at the Sigatoka Hospital has been affected due to a major fault affecting electricity supply.

The Hospital says they are currently using a backup generator.

According to Energy Fiji Limited, the power outage has disrupted operations across several areas, including Sigatoka Hospital, Sigatoka Methodist College, Kulukulu Primary School, Kulukulu Police Post, Pacific Green Furniture, Cuvu Police Post, Cuvu Health Centre, Qereqere Pumping Station, Nadroga Navosa High School, and the Cuvu WAF Reservoir.

EFL says it has also impacted resorts such as Yadua Bay Resort, Shangri-La Yanuca Island, and Gecko Resort.

The outage is also affecting a wide range of villages and settlements, including Kulukulu Village, Nasama Village, Vunavutu Village, Mataqe Village, Volivoli Village, Navuevu Village, Tore Village, Sila Village, Cuvu Village, Naqeledamu Village, Nadromai Village, Yadua Village, Togovere Village, Nadola Settlement, Waibogi Settlement, Tulalevu Settlement, Malaqereqere Settlement, Namuka Bay Resort Settlement, Naidhiri Settlement, Tagitagi Settlement, and Rukurukulevu Village.

Other areas that are without power include Coastline Garage, Myola Plantation, Malaqereqere Subdivision, Sand Dunes, Telecom Towers, Vodafone Towers, and Digicel Towers.

EFL says their team is working to resolve the fault and will restore power as soon as possible.

Residents in affected areas can contact 132 333 or 5333 for updates and assistance.
