Former Fiji Labour Party member and New Zealand-based Nitya Reddy has been appointed as the new Chairman of South Pacific Fertilizers Ltd.
This has been confirmed by the Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry Charan Jeath Singh during the press conference today highlighting the development of the sugar industry and the appointment of new leaders in the industry.
Singh says Reddy is an experienced professional in the field and is expected to contribute to the betterment and growth of the industry.
Meanwhile, Ahemad Bhamji has been appointed as the Chairman of the Sugar Cane Growers Fund and is focused on supporting the sugarcane farmers while Prattick Shamal Singh joins the Board of Directors and is expected to bring expertise in business management.
While welcoming the new leaders, Singh highlighted that this is the government’s commitment to the industry’s improvement.
The Sugar Minister also highlighted that he has confidence in the newly appointed individuals and that their experience and expertise will contribute towards the growth and betterment of the sugar industry and sugarcane farmers.
