A resident of Talaiya Ba said that she will never forget how she only had less than half an hour to leave her house with seven family members at around three o’clock on Friday morning.
Saimun Nisha said they were sleeping when they had a phone call from a neighbour to say that the river near their house was flooded and flood waters could reach their house any minute.
Nisha said she came back home when flood waters receded on Saturday and put most her belongings on the roof of her house.
She said now they are now trying to take out the silt from their house and do not know how they will survive with no food and drinking water.
