Pre-school students of Wainunu village in Bua will no longer have to leave their parents to start their education after the opening of a new infant school by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama this morning.
Roko Tui Bua Aisake Sivo says that it was very sad to see these children leave their parents to stay in a boarding school for a long time.
He says this is the age when the pre-school students need their parents support especially when they are about to start their school life.
The Roko Tui Bua says the new Wainunu Infant School includes three classrooms, one ablution block, playground and two teachers quarters.
Sivo says children from Coqea and Nadua villages will also benefit from the new service that has been funded by the government.
The nearest primary school to Wainunu village is Ratuluke Primary and Secondary School which is approximately 10 kilometres from the village.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister also commissioned the Raviravi, Namalata and Kiobo village water source projects.
According to the Roko Tui Bua, more than 50 houses in the three villages will benefit from the boreholes.
The villagers were previously using water streams and harvested rain water.
