Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says Fiji has updated its guidance on how they plan to keep Fiji safe.
Bainimarama says new evidence suggests that some people may face a very rare side effect of blood clot following the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Bainimarama further says the risks are low however it is important to take steps to manage the risks no matter how small they may be.
He adds new guidance is being developed to spot symptoms of this serious side effect early and keep everyone as safe as they can.
The Prime Minister also says the benefits of protection the vaccines provide are still proven to outweigh the risk by a large margin.
Bainimarama and his wife, Mary got their first jabs of the vaccine earlier this week.
