The quality of education will be further improved for 87 students of Duavata Secondary School in Macuata after the opening of their new classroom block and handing over of equipment today.
While opening the new building facilities at the school, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama urged students of Duavata Secondary to make the most of these improvements.
Bainimarama says Duavata Secondary also received a new boat with a 40 horse power engine last year that is now used to allow both teachers and students to get to school safely.
He says the school has a new dining hall, two new teacher’s quarters, two new dormitories, washrooms for both genders, beds and other boarding equipment.
Bainimarama adds that by improving and upgrading the boarding facilities, they have given more students the chance to live comfortably on campus instead of travelling great distances to get to school.
The total cost of these projects is around $200,000.
