A plan is in place for the construction of a new and much wider bridge in Nasese to replace the current bridge.
Fiji Roads Authority Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore says that they will be awarding the tender for the works sometime this week.
Moore says that the tender will be for the work along Queen Elizabeth Drive which will also involve the construction of the new Nasese Bridge.
Concerns were raised to Fijivillage by motorists regarding the condition of the bridge and also its width.
The FRA CEO says that the current bridge is safe and sound.
