New Zealand’s quarantine-free travel with Australia has been paused until midnight Tuesday.
It came as more cases of the virus were announced in New South Wales and Greater Sydney was put into a two-week lockdown.
There were multiple cases and outbreaks in Australia at different stages of containment, increasing the health risk for New Zealand.
The Wellington region is currently in COVID-19 alert level 2 after a Sydney man tested positive for the virus after spending the weekend in the city.
