The construction of the new Savusavu market will house more vendors as compared to the old one.
This was revealed during a meeting between the Savusavu Town Council staff and the Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar.
In a brief report which was provided to the Minister, stated that the building will cover 700 square meters and accommodate 400 stalls which is an increase of about 20 per cent from the old market.
She also visited the new Nabouwalu Town site where works have begun.
Kumar says consultants are working with the developers and they are into the development processes.
She says the idea is to develop this satellite town because Nabouwalu is very important from an economic point of view.
