Gone are the days people of Nabouwalu would travel long distances to access basic services from the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registry after the opening of the new Registry office in Nabouwalu.
The Prime Minister also officially opened the new Legal Aid Commission Office in Nabouwalu that now sees three Legal Aid Commission branches in the North.
Prior to 2007, people in the Northern Division who sought the services offered by the Legal Aid Commission had to travel all the way to Labasa to access these.
While speaking at the event, Bainimarama assured members of the public that government would continue striving to bring services closer to all Fijians.
He adds that government will also continue to go out to people in different communities with the services and infrastructure they need to make life better and to secure an even brighter future.
The Prime Minister has also urged Fijians to make good use of the services that were being provided in these offices.
The Legal Aid Commission offices are in Labasa, Savusavu and Nabouwalu, with plans to open one in Seaqaqa by the end of July.
