The new Ba Hospital will benefit approximately 140,000 Fijians.
While speaking at the official foundation laying for the new Ba hospital, Assistant Health Minister Veena Bhatnagar says it will be a bridge between Tavua & Rakiraki Sub divisional Hospitals and Lautoka Hospital.
Bhatnagar says people in Ba, RakiRaki and Tavua will benefit from this new development as they will no longer have to travel to Lautoka for health care services.
She says it will offer the current health services being rendered in the Ba Mission Hospital and much more, for example 24 hours Emergency Services, Standard Birthing Units, General wards, Dental Surgery, Minor Surgical Procedures, Blood services, X‑ray and scan, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Dietetics.
The new Ba Hospital will open in October next year.
