The construction of the new Ba Hospital is in progress and the new modernized health facility is expected to open in March next year.
Hospital Project Manager Sanjit Sharma says the initial construction work was expected to be completed by November this year but work was delayed due to Cyclone Winston.
Sharma says the hospital is designed with a modernized health standard and the new infrastructure is being designed with a budget of $30 million.
He says the new hospital will include a fully‑fledged facility which will accommodate 70 beds, a birthing facility, antenatal, dental, two operation theatres, laboratory, X‑ray and pharmaceutical facilities.
Sharma highlights it will also have a modernised 15 accommodation facility for hospital staff, with 7 designed for families and 8 facilities for single accommodation.
