There is a need for more development at the grassroots level and the younger rugby league players need to be taught the basics of the game.
This was highlighted by Fiji Bati forward Tui Kamikamica after he assisted the Fiji Bati Academy players during their training session at Albert Park.
Kamikamica says maintaining their skills and basics of the game will help our younger players in the future.
He says when our younger players are taught right, the game of rugby league in Fiji will reap the benefits of our hard work today.
He added that he is happy with the plans from the FNRL and the Fiji Bati head coach, Wise Kativerata on having an academy for our future rugby league players.
Kamikamica says the academy will be a stepping stone for our younger players to gain knowledge and prepare themselves for their future career in the rugby league arena.
