Fiji’s former Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Nazhat Shameem Khan has taken her oath as a Deputy Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
She says she is honoured to take her oath of office.
Khan adds this is an honour for Fiji and the Pacific as well.
She is also the former President of the Human Rights Council.
Khan worked for 16 years as a prosecutor in Fiji and during that time was appointed Director of Public Prosecutions of Fiji in 1994.
In 1999, she was appointed as Fiji’s first woman High Court Judge.
