Nausori Town Council working with FRA to solve flash flooding issue

The Nausori Town Council is currently working with the Fiji Roads Authority to find a solution regarding the issue of flash flooding in the Nausori Town area which is caused by blocked drains.

Pak N Save Supermarket Manager Manoj Kumar says during the last heavy rain period, blocked drains had caused flash flooding along Gulam Nabi Street in Nausori which brought the threat of flood waters entering their shop.

The Council’s Acting CEO Deo Narayan says that the blockages are caused by the improper disposal of rubbish in these drains.

Flood waters had affected the area next to the Pak N Save outlet on the 20th of this month.
