The Nausori Town Council is expected to reach a decision next week in relation to a major project that has not eventuated since documents were signed three years ago.

This in relation to the construction of a $40 million complex by Shop and Save Limited at the old market site in Nausori Town.

No work has been seen at the site since the agreement was signed in mid 2015.

When questioned today, Nausori Town Council’s CEO, Akhtar Ali says discussions are still ongoing with Shop and Save Limited and they are expected to come up with a final decision next week on whether the project will go ahead as confirmed three years ago.

Shop and Save Limited’s  Managing Director Babu Ratan Deo says he will make a comment next month.

Shop and Save Limited accepted the offer in 2015 to carry out redevelopment of the old Nausori market site and that they would also be subleasing the site for the next 50 years.

It was said three years ago that the complex will have hotel apartments, a cinema, conference rooms, supermarkets and 350 parking spaces.
