The Nausori Airport will soon have a brand-new international terminal.
This was revealed by the Executive Chairman of Airports Fiji Limited Faiz Khan while making their submission to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Affairs.
Khan says the current terminal is very old.
He adds they will start planning this year and the construction of the terminal should come towards the later part of next year.
He has also revealed that the length of the runway will be extended.
Khan says after the expansion of the runway to about 2,300 metres it will then allow operations of 737 aircrafts on unrestricted basis.
He says at the moment 737 aircrafts have restricted loading capacity and cannot fly at night.
Khan says they should be able to complete the expansion of the runway by the third quarter of next year.
