While facing a knee injury at the Pacific Aus Sports last year and getting pregnant has amplified the doubts surrounding Anaseini Nauqe’s netball career, she made a firm decision not to let these setbacks hinder her goal to represent the National side at the 2023 Netball World Cup.

The young lady from Bemana in Nadroga who also shares maternal links to Taveuni says many assumed that these obstacles would bring her netball aspirations to an end, but Nauqe remained resolute and undeterred, refusing to let her challenging days define her future.

The unwavering belief in Nauqe’s ability to bounce back led to her selection for the Fiji Pearls at the Pacific Aus Sports netball competition in April of this year.

She is immensely grateful to her family for their untiring support throughout her journey and they never lost faith in her, providing the encouragement and backing she needed during challenging times.

Nauqe's inspiring journey serves as a testament and has reminded netball players to stay focused and pursue their dreams, no matter the obstacles.

The 2023 Netball World Cup will take place in Cape Town South Africa from the 28th of July to the 6th of August.
