The National Employment Policy 2018 was launched last night at the Grand Pacific Hotel by the Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations Jone Usamate.
Usamate highlighted that the purpose of the National Employment Policy is to identify and implement ways to improve and grow employment in Fiji.
Usamate says that following a number of consultations on a draft policy, the final National Employment Policy 2018 was recently passed in cabinet adding that what government wants to do is grow the economy and make sure that there are employment opportunities.
Usamate says the government is now coming up with a policy to see what Fiji needs to do to have better employment opportunities for people.
He says this includes providing information about employment outcomes of recent graduates and improving access for young people to existing paid work.
