Farmers can expect new panel discussions and opportunities to exchange ideas at the 2024 National Agriculture Show next month, that is aimed at improving service efficiency and knowledge sharing.
While launching the show, Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Vatimi Rayalu announced that the Ministry's team will be ready to answer farmers' questions and showcase the services they provide across the country.
The event will also highlight the importance of agriculture and the need for collective efforts to grow the sector.
Themed ‘Empowering Farmers, Cultivating Resilience through Innovation and Inclusiveness in Climate Smart Agriculture’, the show will feature live demonstrations of new machinery and technologies, such as grafting fruit trees, aimed at increasing efficiency and productivity.
At the Farmers Village, farmers will display their produce and value-added products, while the Animal Health and Production Division will present key aspects of their work, including a pet show in collaboration with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
The event will also showcase new livestock breeds, including beef cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats.
Minister Rayalu is encouraging farmers, students, and the public to attend the show and celebrate the innovations shaping the future of agriculture.
The 2024 National Agriculture Show will take place at Valelevu ground from October 15th to 18th.
