“This is a big help for the school as this would help keep the school and students safe from outside things that might harm them.”

Those are the words of Nasivikoso Village School Principal Mario Nakaivalu during the grant agreement signing of their school fencing project with the Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister Yogesh Karan.

This grant which is worth $29,900.39 will be used to build the school fence.

Nakaivalu says that the school in Ba has had no fencing from when it was established in 2012.

He adds that animals used to enter the school and either trample on vegetables planted by students or roam into areas near the classrooms.

Construction work on the fence is expected to begin next week and finish by the end of April.
