Nasinu, Wainimakutu come out top at Zone meet

Nasinu Secondary School has been crowned the new boy’s champion while Wainimakutu Secondary School from Namosi is the new girl’s champions as the Suva Zone 1 wrapped up its competition at the TFL stadium this afternoon.

Looking at the overall medal tally, in the girl’s division, Wainimakutu won with 8 gold, 9 silver and 2 bronze, second is Dudley High with 7 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze and third is Assemblies of God with 7 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze.

In the boy’s division, Nasinu Secondary took home 6 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze, second is Assemblies of God with 5 gold 6 silver and 5 bronze and third is LDS with 5 gold and 4 silver.

Mataiasi Savou won the Senior Boys 100 metres finals this afternoon in 10.79 seconds but was second to Joape Tuinakoro in the 200 metres.

He also helped LDS to come second in the 4X100 metres relay.
