Swire Shipping Fijian Drua lock Isoa Nasilasila, Blues’ number 8 Hoskins Sotutu and Highlanders’ fullback Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens have been named in the Super Rugby Pacific team of the week after the completion of round 1 of the competition on Sunday.
Nasilasila was outstanding for the Drua against the Blues as he was solid in the execution of his lineout duties but also did his bit with the ball in hand and on defence.
He ran a total of 50 metres from 11 carries, which included a clean break and an offload as well as seven tackles.
Blues’ Sotutu took the fight to the Drua and finished with 35 metres gained, which included 12 carries, one clean break, a defender beaten with two offloads as well as a brace of tries.
Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens, on his debut for the Highlanders, did not fail to impress as he lived up to the expectations of the coaches as he ran a total of 93 metres in attack and scored two tries.
His performance had a few of the sports media in the South of NZ declaring the 22-year-old as the perfect replacement for former All Black Ben Smith in the Highlanders after 4 long years.
