Public Accounts Committee member, Ratu Sela Nanovo has recommended that the Audit Act and Public Enterprise Act should be reviewed.
While speaking during the Public Accounts Committee meeting today, Nanovo says this needs to be done to ensure that all the companies that the government has been giving money to are audited by the Auditor General’s Office.
Nanovo thinks that they are limiting their work to the current act.
He also suggested that the new Auditor General should be appointed.
Another opposition member in the Public Accounts Committee, Aseri Radrodro says as part of the committee’s recommendation to the Auditor General’s Office, he would like the office to provide them with a list of government entities that are being funded by the government but are not being audited by the Auditor General’s Office.
