Olympic bronze medallist Alowesi Nakoci is back with the Fijiana 7s training squad for the 2022 Rugby World Cup 7s in Cape Town next month.
The star-scoring machine was seen training with the team at Albert Park this morning as they played a warm-up match against Dominion Brothers.
Nakoci was injured in June this year after she was allegedly stabbed while trying to stop a fight that occurred at her home in Suva in early June.
She was a standout player for the Fijiana 7s this season and is also the top-try scorer for Fijiana, scoring 23 tries.
Due to her injuries, the 30-year-old was not part of the Commonwealth Games 7s team that created history by winning their first-ever silver medal at the Games.
Nakoci will be aiming to double-up her Olympic bronze medal if she is selected to be part of the World Cup squad.
The 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens will be from the 9th to the 11th of next month.
