Swire Shipping Fijian Drua player Michael Naitokani is aiming to better his performance this season as he will be filling the big shoes left by Kalaveti Ravouvou.
The 23-year-old says the pressure is there, but the training they have been doing will surely ease that pressure when he gets onto the field.
He says it was hard for him to see Ravouvou leave the team as he is a great player, and his main aim this season is to lift the level of their game.
Naitokani says their role as midfielders is important as they are the ones who will be controlling the game.
The 23-year-old started playing rugby in Primary School at Newtown Christian, where he joined the Suva Rugby Kaji side for the Milo Kaji competition from U9 to U13.
He then joined QVS and played in the Secondary School Deans competition from U14 to U16.
He was awarded a scholarship to study in New Zealand, where he continued to play rugby, and then he joined the Crusaders academy.
Naitokani got injured in his first year at the Crusaders Academy, and he returned home for rehab and decided to stay around and waited for the second year of the Drua in the Super Rugby Pacific competition.
The Drua will kick off their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific against the Blues on the 24th of February in Auckland.
