The Naitasiri Secondary School Under 16 Women’s Rugby team is through to the national Vodafone Raluve semi-final competition after defeating Ra High School 10-3.

Coach Semiti Soqoiwasa says they dedicate their win to the team manager who could not attend the games because his father had just passed away.

He says they are thankful that women’s rugby is being promoted in schools which has enabled their girls to take part in other curricula.

Soqoiwasa also acknowledges the support and assistance of the Vunidakua Rugby Club, which has been assisting the team in training.

In other results, Dudley High School defeated Sigatoka Methodist College 25-15 in the Under 15 grade, Jasper Williams High School beat Ratu Latianara Secondary School 31-10, and St Johns College beat Khalsa College 21-19 in the Under 19.

The winners have qualified for the national semi finals next week.
