At least 5 people are still waiting for assistance as they have been sitting on the branches of a tree in Nadi back road since this morning.
An eyewitness Shyampati told us earlier this afternoon that this happened after a bus was caught in flood waters and is now fully submerged in water.
She has been trying to get assistance for the people.
DISMAC needs boats to rescue these people.
About 20 people are now sheltered in a double storey building at Qeleloa, Nadi.
A resident Jeshika Singh said they are worried that another 6 families in the area are still stuck in their homes as flood waters continue to rise.
Earlier this afternoon a mother and her 1 year old child were rescued after they were stuck in the double storey house in Namaka.
We highlighted their plight and called on authorities to act as the mother and her child were in the bottom flat while the flood waters were rising.
She could not move upstairs as the owner of the house is overseas and house is locked.
A concerned resident Kalo Tui said the family was rescued after their plight was highlighted at 1pm.
In Ba
A total of 374 people of Ba are taking shelter at various evacuation centers.
The Ba District office has confirmed these are the people who have lost all their belongings after flood waters entered their homes from this morning.
The worst hit areas in Ba are Wailailai, Yalalevu, Koronubu, Votua, Matanivara, Moto and Bangladesh.
The five evacuation centers that have been opened in Ba are Ba Sangam College, Votua Catholic School, Vatulaulau Primary School, Khalsa Primary School and Namosau Primary School.
Meanwhile, earlier today, an 80 year old woman, a disabled elderly man and a young woman were rescued from their Yalalevu house.
Ropes were tied between two houses to help them across with neighbours also assisting in moving them to safety.
In Elevuka, Ba, Mohammed Abu Riyaz also rescued a man who was stuck in flood waters for three hours.
In Rakiraki
There is no water in Rakiraki town and the nearby areas and this is due to the burst of the Qalau water pump.
However Water Authority has provided water to the Rakiraki hospital for 19 patients who are currently admitted in the hospital.
Provincial Adminstrator Rakiraki Sitiveni Tavaga said Police and government officials are monitoring the situation.
He said the concern is when the situation will worsen by tonight.
Tavaga said rain has started again and the main road to Vaileka town is still flooded includes the Qalau flats, Naqoro flats, FSC road.
Meanwhile five families from FSC quarters including 10 adults and 12 children are sheltering inside the Welding shop in Penang Mill.
Four families living in the low lying areas from Qalema settlement have moved into the house of Mateo.
Five families have moved into the Rakiraki Muslim School evacuation center with a total of 31 evacuees.
Meanwhile the Vaileka Methodist Church hall is opened for people who will be affected tonight.
