Good news for the people in the Bua Province as the government have started phase one of the Nabouwalu new town development, where the groundbreaking ceremony of a passenger bus terminal has taken place. While officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa says Nabouwalu will be amongst the first towns where town planners will ensure that all urban planning principles are applied.
Nalumisa says this commitment speaks to their dedication to creating a model town, where every aspect is carefully designed to enhance the quality of life for its residents and visitors.
He says as they address the pressing issue of climate change, they remain mindful of Bua's natural beauty and biodiversity.
He further says their new town will not just meet immediate needs but anticipate and adapt to a changing climate.
Nalumisa adds the town will feature green spaces as carbon sinks, rely on renewable energies and implement water management systems for resource efficiency, setting a benchmark for eco-friendly urban planning an enhance emphasizing the government’s focus on sustainability.
