Concerns are being raised by Nabitu, Sigatoka residents on bad road conditions and the height of the Raiwaqa Bridge as drivers are having to think twice before they decide to drive towards Sigatoka Town.

Nabitu resident, Abhay Sharma says the road is riddled with potholes and it is very difficult for farmers to take their produce to the market.

He further says Raiwaqa Bridge that leads to Sigatoka Town is very low and is only on two culverts at each end.

Sharma says the bridge gets flooded every time it rains heavily.

He says people have passed away in the past because the sick could not be taken to the health centre as it was flooded.

The resident has raised further concerns on the lack of bus service for more than 300 residents in the area.

He says they have not had a service for more than 12 years.

Sharma says when concerns have been raised to the authorities, they have been directed to go through their District Advisory Councillors however nothing has been done.

We have sent questions to the Fiji Roads Authority who are expected to respond later why the Land Transport Authority has yet to respond to our questions.
