The NSW Waratahs will give game-breaking centre Izaia Perese every chance to prove his fitness this week as the Super Rugby Pacific season moves into the knockout stages.
Perese's season looked over when he suffered a medial ligament injury against the Hurricanes two weeks ago.
However, Coach Darren Coleman says the Waratahs' most destructive back could be a surprise starter against the Chiefs.
He says they will give him a crack as it is sudden death and they have no reason to save him.
Coleman says they will push him through this week.
The Waratahs will meet the Chiefs at 4.35pm Saturday in the second quarter-final.
10-times Super Rugby champions, the Crusaders, will host the Queensland Reds at Orangetheory Stadium in Christchurch at 7.05pm Friday.
The table-topping Blues will play the Highlanders at Eden Park in Auckland at 7.05pm Saturday.
Finally, the last quarter-final is at GIO Stadium in Canberra, Australia, where the Brumbies play the Hurricanes at 9.45 pm Saturday.
