Some of rugby league's biggest names have rallied around the New Zealand Warriors, as they push for an exemption from the NRL to bring in loan players due to their worsening injury crisis.
On Wednesday, the club confirmed centre Adam Keighran will require knee surgery, their third major injury this week.
But some former stars of the game could be on hand to help.
Sharks Premiership-winning captain Paul Gallen is keen to take up the offer.
Also putting their hands up are Melbourne Storm legend, Billy Slater, and former Broncos player Sam Thaiday.
Thaiday confirmed yesterday that he would consider playing for the Warriors as he was only retired one year and also he was doing plenty of contact work and training with the Sharks until two months ago.
The 2020 NRL season will resume next Thursday with the Paramatta Eels taking on the Brisbane Broncos at 9.50pm.
