The NGO Coalition on Human Rights is calling on the Commissioner of Police to suspend the officers involved in the arrest of Vilikesa Soko.

Chairperson, Shamima Ali sayid these investigations must be carried out with total transparency and that if the allegations of abuse of Soko by police are found to be correct then the officers responsible must be held accountable and subjected to criminal proceedings.

Ali added that the post mortem examination reveals horrific injuries inflicted on Soko and that he was in the custody of law enforcement officers when he suffered injuries.

According to the post mortem report, Soko had multiple traumatic injuries including alleged traumatic rectal injury. The post mortem said these injuries are due to alleged assault.
