National Federation Party gave gifted leaders like A D Patel, S M Koya, and Harish Sharma to Fiji who played a critical role during the complex negotiations with the United Kingdom that led to the birth of a new nation.
This was the message of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka for the diamond jubilee celebration of the party at the Penang Sangam School in Rakiraki.
Rabuka says Fiji’s first organized political party NFP always championed to create a rural industry that was the centrepiece of Fiji’s economy for generations.
He says the party was torn by strife but the mango tree did not fall, he hopes the outcome would become a landmark of joint efforts to unite a divided nation.
He further says Professor Prasad is tackling with vision and determination, the mighty challenge of rebuilding the nation’s finances.
He adds under the guidance of Professor Prasad NFP will remain the pillar of the nation.
