National Federation Party candidate Faizal Siddiq Koya says he will now take legal action against FijiFirst General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum as Koya said that Sayed-Khaiyum made some comments against Koya and has not made a public apology.
Koya had demanded a public apology from Sayed-Khaiyum.
Koya said that Sayed-Khaiyum during a campaign meeting in Sabeto, Nadi and also during an interview has made some comments that are not true.
Koya says given the fact that there is no response and there are three parties involved which includes FijiFirst General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Fiji Sun and a Mr Chand who was not in the meeting, he will look at his legal avenues on three folds within the next week or so.
He says people ought to know that in politics it is alright to disagree and it is alright to campaign on your own strategies.
He says the people that were with him will stand with him and they have given a declaration, copies of which he has given to the journalists involved.
Sayed-Khaiyum had earlier said that Koya should grow up after he was asked on Koya asking him to make a public apology.
Koya says Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum must wake up to the fact that whatever he says is not gospel.
Koya also raised his concerns on an article written by a local media that states that a man has heard Koya say that Sayed- Khaiyum has about 8 or 9 posts and he has placed his muslim people on these posts.
