The National Fire Authority is now reviewing its National Fire Service Act 1994 in terms of Legislation and Amendments.
Speaking at a Stakeholders Workshop, Permanent Secretary of Local Government, Urban Development, Housing and Environment Samuela Namosimalua said this should be an opportunity to put together a new piece of legislation.
Namosimalua said this review will help re-organise the delivery of fire and emergency service in the country.
Namosimalua added that after the workshop NFA will then develop a draft legislation which will require more numbers of workshop and consultation before it is finalized and presented to Cabinet.
NFA CEO John O'Connor said this review will look into a number of amendments one being the operation response of Fire officers especially with the increasing number of complaints from the people on service deliverance.
