The National Fire Authority now has two new fully equipped ladder fire trucks to allow them to respond effectively to high‑rise building fires and rescue operations.

These two ladder fire trucks cost $1 million each and one will be based in Lautoka while the other remain in Suva.

The two fire trucks are both equipped with ladders at a height of 35 metres.

It was handed over today by the Minister for Local Government Parveen Bala.

The National Fire Authority has invested close to $3 million this year in purchasing new equipment and vehicles.

An Aerial platform ladder fire truck and two ambulance service vehicles were purchased in September this year.
