The National Fire Authority has received Fiji’s first ever combined aerial platform ladder fire truck.
With a height of 22 metres, the new fire truck was designed and built by Fraser Fire in New Zealand and is unique to Fiji and the entire Pacific region.
It was handed over today along with two ambulance service vehicles by the Minister for Local Government Parveen Bala.
Bala said the purchase of the fire truck and the two ambulance vehicles cost $2 million.
NFA CEO John O'Connor said the purchase of this brand new ladder fire truck will now allow them to respond effectively to high rise building fires.
