The National Disaster Management Office is on standby as Tropical Cyclone Winston approaches Fiji.

The office says they will finalise the list of evacuation centres and alert members of the public soon.

Director Akapusi Tuifagalele says school managements around the country are aware that they need to have schools ready as evacuation centres.

NDMO has a budget of $1 million through the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund which they will use to assist those who are affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
