The Fiji National Disaster Management Office is calling on all Fijians in the Nadi areas to limit unnecessary travels after floodwaters have entered parts of Nadi Town due to heavy rain experienced overnight.
The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that Nadi back-road is still open for traffic while the road from Koroilovu, Ratu Sukuna and the Nadi Bus Stand is closed due to flooded waters.
Roads that are currently open for traffic are Savalau Road 2nd Crossing, Nadi, Matawalu Rd, Lautoka Kings Rd to Matawalu to Nabulini, Hotspot sections will be subjected to surface flooding if the rain persists, Nausori Road, Rakiraki
Also, several roads in the Western Division are currently closed due to flooding caused by heavy rain are Savalau Road 3rd Crossing, Nadi, Chuni Lal Road Crossing, Nadi, Arolevu Road Crossing, Nadi, Mate Road Crossing, Nadi, Navula Road Crossing, Lautoka, Drasa Dam Road 1st Crossing, Lautoka, Vuda Back Road 1st Crossing, Lautoka, Buabua Road 1st Crossing, Lautoka, Field 40 Tramline Road CH00 to CH250, Lautoka, Matawalu Rd, Lautoka, Vaivai Road 1st Crossing, Lautoka, Abaca Road 1st Crossing, Lautoka, Nacilau Rd, Lautoka, Saru Back Road Crossing, Lautoka, Varadoli Back Rd, Ba, Varadoli Cemetery Rd, Ba, Marinitawa Rd, Ba, water level rising Savusavu crossing, a single lane for traffic at the Balevuto crossing, Ba, Babriban crossing, Ba, 3rd crossing underwater towards Vutuni Rd, Ba, Vatawai Rd, Ba where it's crossing are underwater and closed to traffic
Rakiraki access and 1st crossing heading to Rakiraki access, Vunitogoloa bridge, Kings Rd, Rakiraki, Korotale Valley Road, Rakiraki, Naqoro flat with single lane still open for traffic, Nasau Rd, Rakiraki, Kings Rd, Rakiraki. Vunitogoloa Bridge is open to all traffic, Vitiri Rs, Rakiraki, Waimari Riad, Rakiraki, Waimari Road, Rakiraki, Vunikavikaloa Rd, Rakiraki, Colasi Road, Katudrau crossing, first crossing to Namunamu Rd, Rakiraki.
1st Crossing heading to Dramasi Rd, Tavua, Mataniwai Rd, Tavua, Nadarivatu Rd, Tavua and Balata Flat is currently open for traffic, Kings Rd near Yaqara Bridge, Tavua is currently accessible to traffic, Yaladro Rd, Tavua - still underwater, Rukuruku Rd, Tavua, Matacawa Rd, Tavua.
The Fiji Meteorological Service says water levels in some of the major rivers in the Western and Northern Divisions are now above alert or warning levels.
Heavy rain is expected to continue into the night across the Fiji Group.

This increases the risk of major river flooding, including in the Central Division. The next high tide is around midnight tonight.
Conditions are not expected to improve anytime soon, with periods of rain likely throughout the weekend and into at least early next week.
