Muslims in Fiji as well as around the world will begin their month long fasting from tomorrow as the moon has been sighted this evening marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
The sighting of the new moon has been confirmed by the Fiji Muslim League.
The month of Ramadan is considered by Muslims as the most blessed month of the Islamic calendar and they do not eat or drink anything from sunrise till sunset.
Ramadan takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calender.
While Ramadan is a month of fasting or 'Roza', it is also a time for giving to the less fortunate.
At the end of Ramadan, Muslims will celebrate the festival of Eid Ul Fitr.
