Muslims will be beginning their month of fasting from this morning as the moon was sighted last night to indicate the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
Fiji Muslim League President, Hafiz-Ud-Dean Khan says they are very thankful because there were difficulties last year as places of worship were closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Khan says they are thankful to God and the government for having made this environment possible for them.
He says this year all their mosques are better prepared to feed those who are hungry.
He says if you are facing difficulties you can go to any of their branches for assistance.
Khan says Muslims should continue to get vaccinated this month as it is important that we overcome this sickness.
Eid is expected to be celebrated on the 14th of May.
