Young blockbusting flanker Motikiai Murray has set his sights on achieving his goal this year and that is to play every game for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific.
Murray says he is working extra hard to try and earn his spot in the match-day squad every week.
The 20-year-old says coming into the professional rugby environment, he thought it was going to be easy but it wasn’t and he is putting in the extra work to impress the coaches.
He says he is learning all that he can from the senior players in the team.
Murray captained the Fiji under-20 side to the Oceania Rugby tournament in Australia, he then joined the Fiji Warriors before he was drafted into the Fijian Drua development squad last year.
He also made his Super Rugby Pacific debut when he came off the bench for the Drua in round 13 last year when they played against the Crusaders in Christchurch.
Originally from Lovoni village in Ovalau, Murray is set to provide the competition in the back-row and will surely add depth to the position.
The Fijian Drua will take on the Blues in their first match of the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition in Auckland.
