Swire Shipping Fijian Drua flanker Motikiai Murray has set his sights on being selected for the Fiji Water Flying Fijians for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia and the 20-year-old says he is working hard towards this long-term goal.
The Nasaumatua, Lovoni, Ovalau man says it is a dream of every player to be a part of the Flying Fijians, especially in the World Cup.
Murray says, growing up, watching the national team play on television inspired him to one day also represent the country on the international stage.
Murray says he is confident of achieving his target and he is working hard on and off the field as well.
The former Ratu Kadavulevu School rep says he is working on areas that he feels need improvement, like his ball carrying and also his positioning and he is getting all the help he can get from the senior players.
Murray made his Shop N Save Super Rugby debut for the Fijian Drua last season against the Crusaders after captaining the Fiji Under 20 side to the Junior World Rugby Championship held in South Africa last year.
The Fijian Drua will play their last pre-season match this Friday against the Melbourne Rebel at 5.30pm in Melbourne.
They will play the Blues next Saturday at 3.35pm in Auckland.
