A tender to replace the old call system and infrastructure in Vanua Levu has been awarded to a multinational company.
The company Aviat Networks which is based in California, will provide microwave links and expand the capacity for Telecom Fiji in their service provided to the North and surrounding Islands.
General Manager Engineering Telecom, Marika Vada said that a tender had been called for and while they are not revealing the cost of the Tender, an announcement will be made in the coming months.
This would mean quicker and more calls being able to be made to the North and outer lying islands.
