Prime Minster Voreqe Bainimarama has confirmed that France has pledged their support to Fiji's Presidency of the 23rd Conference of Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Bainimarama made this announcement while officiating at opening of the Muani Village Water and Solar Project in Kadavu.
Bainimarama says he received a call from the President of France Emmanuel Macron who related the message to him.
The Prime Minister says his mission at the COP 23 will be to get bigger nations not only to reduce their carbon emissions but to provide funding to smaller nations like Fiji as we fight against Climate Change.
Bainimarama says this will help build sea walls, evacuation centers and other things that are needed in small nation countries that are facing climate change.
He toured the island of Kadavu where he officiated at several government projects including those projects that are designed to improve the quality of education.
