Mother could not hold back tears after remembering her late daughter

She could not hold her tears back when she was called to lay her daughters wreath at the podium of remembrance at the Police Special Response Unit in Narere.

Mereseini Tagicakibau the mother of the late Luisa Tagicakibau was in tears this morning as the members of the Fiji Police Force, families and friends gathered to mark Police Remembrance Day as a tribute to fallen officers and to reflect on police contribution and services to the country.

Mereseini said that her daughter had just turned 21 and was called to rest in November last year.

16 police officers died while in service in the past 12 months.

The services were held at Labasa, Lautoka and Suva.
