With over five thousand unemployed people registered with the National Employment Centre, statistics now show that the most number are centered in the Nasinu area.
Since the first round of registration started, a total of 5,800 people have registered with over to 900 registration in the Northern Division and in the West while there were 3,400 people in the Central and Eastern Division.
Director Viliame Baledrokadroka said that another aim of the National Employment Centre was to capture the true picture of unemployment in the country, and this has shown that there are a high number of unemployed people in the Nasinu area.
Baledrokadroka added that while they have recorded these high figures, many are yet to come forward.
Meanwhile, for the 5,800 registered so far, they are expected to undergo aptitude tests this week before starting with two weeks of life skills training.
The National Employment Centre was gazetted in a decree by the President and sees unemployed people fifteen years and above undergoes training before undergoing six months work attachment.
This provides a one-stop shop for the unemployed people to be able to increase their chances of getting a job.
