More than 900 houses were destroyed while more than 2000 houses were partially damaged during Tropical Cyclone Harold.
This was highlighted by the Director Fiji National Disaster Management Office Vasiti Soko who says 6 vessels are currently delivering food rations, non-food items and water tanks in affected areas such as Kadavu and Lau.
She says the Prime Minister who is on his weeklong tour visiting areas that were affected, is in Kadavu today, distributing relief supplies.
Soko says the Prime Minister was supposed to be in Kadavu yesterday, but due to bad weather, they spent one more day on the island of Moala in Lau.
The Prime Minister and his delegation will be distributing relief supplies including tents, stoves, water tanks, hygiene kits and shelter kits and food rations to these villages.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also visited communities on the island of Ono-i-Lau including Nukuni village, Ono-i-Lau District School, Ono-i-Lau health centre, the government quarters settlement and Doi village.
He also visited Vatoa village, Vatoa District School and Vatoa Health centre.
The government delegation headed by Bainimarama also visited Makadru and Yaroi village in Matuku.
