More than 7,000 people are expected to be at the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, India while the rituals have started today and will continue till Sunday.
Ayodhya is the birth place of Lord Ram.
According to Indian media, nearly 100 representatives from different countries will also attend the consecration ceremony.
The Ram Mandir Trust has announced next Monday, as the auspicious date for the inaugural ceremony while the entire temple is expected to be completed by December this year.
The Ram Lalla sculpture made by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj has been selected for installation at the Ram Mandir.
The temple is 360 feet long and 235 feet wide, with a total built-up area of 57,400 square feet.
The stones used to build the temple are unique, with a groove cut into each stone and no cement joining the stones together.
The stones were brought in from Bansi Paharpur in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.
